Norwood Mall Lipstick Workshop

Coming to One of Our Lipstick Workshops? Here’s What You Need to Know

If you’ve booked your spot at a LiPLAB lipstick-making workshop—get ready for a hands-on, creative and colourful experience! Whether you’re joining us with your besties, celebrating something special, or just keen to try something new, here’s a quick guide to what to expect on the day.

Throughout the workshop, your facilitator will guide you step by step—from mixing your base to pouring it into moulds. They’re there to help you troubleshoot, offer colour advice, and keep things fun and relaxed. So listen closely and don’t hesitate to ask for help or tips.

What’s in the Mix?

We’re all about quality ingredients. Your handmade lipstick will be created using:

  • Jojoba oil – for smooth, hydrating wear
  • Beeswax – to give your lipstick structure and staying power
  • Tree nut waxes – to lock in moisture
  • Cosmetic-grade mica pigment powders – for beautiful colour and a soft shimmer (if you want it!)

These natural ingredients form a gorgeous base that’s kind to lips and customisable to your exact colour preferences.

Your Colour, Your Way

This is where the magic happens! Once your base is ready, you’ll slowly add pigment powders to customise your shade.

  • Start slow. Add small amounts of pigment and mix well.
  • Test often. Swipe a bit on your hand or the test paper provided. Be sure to blow on your mixing stick before applying to your skin!
  • Want a sheer lipstick? Use less pigment.
  • Prefer full coverage? Build up your colour gradually for that bold, rich finish.

Trying to Recreate a Favourite Lipstick?

If you’ve brought your favourite lippie and want to make a dupe—great idea! Simply smear a little bit of it on the white page in front of you. This trick helps reveal the undertones and makes it easier to match your mix to the original.
